Ms. MacGibbon is the former CEO and director of INV Metals Inc., a Canadian based publicly listed company focused on the development of the Loma Larga underground gold mine and on prospective exploration, within Ecuador. INV Metals was acquired by Dundee Precious Metals Inc. in July 2021. Ms. MacGibbon joined INV Metals in March 2008 as CFO and was appointed CEO in October 2015. She has over 25 years of experience in both the mining sector and within capital markets. Ms. MacGibbon oversaw the technical, strategic, financial and ESG initiatives of INV Metals, along with marketing and communications efforts.

 

Ms. MacGibbon is currently a director of Osisko Gold Royalties Ltd. and TransAlta Corporation. Ms. MacGibbon is a CPA/CA, holds her ICD.D from the Institute of Corporate Directors, and has completed a Cybersecurity Certificate from Cornell University.

Ms. MacGibbon is a Canadian mining executive and corporate director who is passionate about advocacy for the development and financing of responsible and sustainable resource extraction and power generation, in conjunction with innovation in, and the transition to, cleaner energy sources in the race towards net zero. Ms. MacGibbon is the incoming President of The Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum (CIM) and continues her advocacy of the resource industry in that role. She has been published in The Globe & Mail and the National Post.

 

Ms. MacGibbon will be conveyed her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University in May 2025 which she undertook to further her understanding of critical mental health challenges impacting employees. Ms. MacGibbon attended Western University where she received her BA and subsequently completed a Diploma in Accounting at Sir Wilfred Laurier University. Ms. MacGibbon is an alumnus of Deloitte where she received her CPA, CA designation, prior to which she held the role of cost analyst with Inco Limited. After leaving Deloitte, she moved to BMO Capital Markets as a mining research associate covering base metals stocks and then went on to RBC Capital Markets as a global mining institutional salesperson.
